Appointment of judges in 7 High Courts, Center approves collegium recommendation
BILASPUR/NEW DELHI / The Center has issued notifications regarding the appointment of judges to seven different High Courts within two weeks of the recommendations of the Supreme Court Collegium headed by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud on July 15.
The President has appointed Justices Basant Balaji Dadrasekaran Kartha Jayachandran, Sophie Thomas and Pudhen Vodu Gopal Pillai Amitkumar as permanent judges of the Kerala High Court after their names were recommended by the Supreme Court collegium. The collegium of the Kerala High Court had unanimously recommended the names of these additional Nagapadheesh on March 17.
Based on the recommendations of the Supreme Court Collegium, five additional judges have been appointed as permanent judges of the Gauhati High Court. Justice Karto Sena, Justice Devashim and Justice Matashree Nandi, Justice Maliwankung and Justice Arun Dev Chowdhary. The Gauhati High Court collegium had unanimously recommended these additional judges for appointment as permanent judges of the high court on May 10.
Additional Judge Justice Deepak Kumar Vichari has been appointed as a permanent judge of the Chhattisgarh High Court. The Collegium of the Chhattisgarh High Court unanimously recommended his name for appointment as a permanent judge of the High Court on April 11, which was approved by the Supreme Court collegium.
The President has approved the names of two additional judges, Justice Anil Laxman Pansare and Justice Sandeepkumar Chandrabhan More, as permanent judges of the Bombay High Court. The Collegium of the Bombay High Court had unanimously recommended these two additional Gadhis for appointment as permanent judges of the High Court on 12 April.
The Supreme Court Collegium had said, "The Chief Ministers and Governors of Maharashtra and Goa have agreed to the above recommendations. As per the recommendation of the Supreme Court Collegium, three Additional Judges of the Calcutta High Court, Justice Krishna Ram, Justice Vibhas Ranjan and Justice Ajop Kumar Mukherjee has been appointed. According to the notification, advocates Rajan Sharma and Bipin Chandra Negi and judicial officer Rakesh Chala have been appointed as judges of the Himachal Pradesh High Court. Their names will be recommended on December 5, 2022. Chief Justice of the High Court in consultation with his two senior most colleagues which was approved by the Supreme Court Collegium.
