Onion shortage in Manipur amid violence, sent by train from Maharashtra

Imphal/ There is tension in Manipur. In such a situation, to help the state, the Central Railway has sent six train coaches filled with onions to Manipur from Manmad in Nashik district of Maharashtra. A CR official gave this information on Tuesday.
Sent the first goods train on Sunday

Officials said on Monday that in view of the prevailing situation in Manipur, the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) decided to extend help on Sunday. He sent the first goods train full of essential commodities to the violence-hit north-eastern state. The goods train reached Khongsang railway station in Manipur's Tamenglong district from Guwahati on Monday.

Six out of 22 coaches arrived

Dr. Shivraj Manaspure, Chief Public Relations Officer, Central Railway said that on Sunday, 22 cartons were loaded with onions at Akai Goods Road near Nashik's Manmad station to be sent to Changsari station near Guwahati in Assam. Six of these coaches were taken to the Song of Manipur.
