New Delhi /The Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare dedicated three important initiatives – PESTEC (Technology Based Sub Estimation System), VIS (Weather Information Data Information System) JIR AIDE (Intermediary Enrollment App) to farmers in the Centre's ambitious Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) to streamline the process of accurate sub estimation and registration process. Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and Union Earth Sciences Minister Kiren Rijiju were specially present at the event.
On this occasion, under an important policy decision, the central government has provided relief to the farmers from the difficulties they face in getting claims due to the expenditure of the state share, giving Rs 258 crore to about 5.60 lakh beneficiary farmers of 8 states at their own level.
